Skyfest Registration is officially declared open! Planning is well underway, and we’re busy confirming entertainment for you, your family and friends. Over the next few weeks we’ll be bringing you weekly updates of what and who you can expect to see at the event. We are still confirming acts but can reveal that...“Oh my God”... X Factor’s Stacey Solomon will be dazzling us with her vocal talents!
We have listened to your feedback and are planning the event with your comments and suggestions in mind. The most important change is that we’ve moved Skyfest to June because you told us that September was...well... a bit dreich. The other exciting thing is that the date change means a move to Dalmeny House, where the event will take place in the sprawling grounds on the edge of the Forth. Let’s hope the sun shines...But what the hell if it doesn’t.
You can expect to see loads of great entertainment and activities unique to Sky, like the chance to be a Sky News reader and try your hand at punditry. The Bigger Picture team will be bringing loads of fantastic Sport and Arts activities, including Rainforest Rescue’s 3D rainforest experience. This pod will transport you to Brazil where Sky, its customers and you have the chance to save a million trees from being destroyed.
On the family day, characters from our channel partners’ most popular shows will be coming to life, including an appearance from a well known, female explorer. There’ll also be a main stage with music and dancing, and we hope that we’ll be able to confirm some of the acts by next week. Something else you told us you loved last year was watching your friends compete in Skystars. This talent search uncovered some incredible talents, including winners Richard Kerr and Bryan Shallow who were voted for by the audience and celebrity panel, live on the main stage. Together with Skystars 2010 sponsors Sky Arts, we’ll be bringing you more on this next week, including details of this year’s exciting prize!
