It turns out that scientists have a lot to smile about. Researchers like the father/son team Ed and Robert Diener, Stanford psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky and ethicist Stephen Post have spoken to people all over the world in the emerging field of Positive Psychology.
It may not surprise you to learn that it’s the simple things in life that make us the happiest. At the top of the list are music, laughter and spending time with friends. Indeed, making the most of the moments we’re given without hurrying is, apparently, the key to our wellbeing. It doesn’t take a scientist, therefore, to work out why coming to Skyfest is good for the soul.
We spend so much time with our heads down beavering away in the name of great telly that it’s easy to forget to have fun. But coming together to celebrate our success with colleagues, friends and families is the ideal chance to be more than the person in the corridor. And ultimately, it can only mean that we work better together, says Positive Psychology, because the greatest workers in the world are happy ones!
